Markets and applications
What our cross-linked oils and Crystadol plant butters bring to your formulation, market by market.
Cosmetics and personal care
From fluid oils to solid butters, plasma-treated plant oils give formulators natural textures with a clean processing story.
What they bring
Texture: non-Newtonian rheology modifiers and thickeners, from fluid oils to solid butters.
Clean processing: no metal catalyst, no solvent and no high-temperature hydrogenation.
Stability: a lower iodine value for better oxidation stability and a longer shelf life.
Natural origin: 100 % renewable raw materials, one plant per product.
Made for your formula: texture and viscosity adjusted with you, under a non-disclosure agreement.
Why plant butters made by plasma
Only a handful of plant fats are solid in nature. Shea and cocoa butter are by far the best known; mango kernel, kokum, illipe and sal butters are rarer. Many plant butters on the market, such as plum or prickly pear butter, are hydrogenated vegetable fractions blended back with the oil that gives them their name. Conventional hydrogenation relies on a metal catalyst, usually nickel, at high temperature.
Plasma takes another route. It cross-links and partially hydrogenates the oil itself, at moderate temperature and without a catalyst, giving textures close to native butters with no metal residue and no high-temperature stress. Butters on the market are generally of high quality; ours add an option when origin and processing matter to your brand.

Lubricants and greases
Our cross-linked oils work both as bio-based base oils and as performance components in the lubricant itself.
What they bring
Friction modification: polymers act as a bio-based friction modifier.
Shear-thinning in the base oil: a thin, even film under heavy loads and high speeds, with less friction and wear.
Viscosity range: oligomers from ISO VG 68 to 680 and polymers up to 20,000 mm²/s at 40 °C, to build heavy bio-based base oils.
Adhesion: strong tackiness and affinity for surfaces.
Stability: a lower iodine value than the starting oil, for better oxidation stability.

Paints, varnishes and decorative coatings
Plasma-treated plant oils make bio-based resins for paints, varnishes and stains, with the durability decorative coatings need.
What they bring
Bio-based binders made from plant oils, without metal catalyst or solvent.
Durability: chemical resistance and thermal stability.
Alternatives to blown oils, made by plasma under oxygen.
Reactive grades: functional groups such as hydroxyl or epoxy for curing and compatibility.
How to source them
